COP26(26th Conference of the Paties)란 제26차 유엔기구변화협약당사국총회, 기후변화에 효과적으로 대응하기 위한 세계적인 의사 결정 기구를 말한다.
영국 글래스고에서 2021년 10월 31일 ~ 11월 13일 열린 COP26에서는 세계 각국이 기후위기 대응을 위해 석탄 개발을 단계적으로 감축하고,
2025년까지 기후변화 적응기금을 2배로 확대하기로 하는 내용 등이 담긴 ‘글래스고 기후조약(Glasgow Climate Pact)’이 채택됐다.
